sneha, whose voice was heard in yaadein, moksha, and also in the soon to be released shararat, aamdani athani kharcha ruppaiyya, na tum jaano na hum and na tumko bhool payenge, started singing at the age of three, a gift she inherited from her mother. then, she enrolled for her classical training under shikha ganguly in delhi and trained for many years when someone told her to go to mumbai and meet kalyanji of the famous kalyanji-anandji duo. so at the age of 12, sneha's father took her to mumbai and the music director told him that the girl's place is in mumbai and not delhi. pronto, the family packed its bags and shifted to mumbai, and sneha began a six-year training under kalyanji. he taught me how to sing light, folk, filmi music, says sneha, who also regards sonu nigam as a great teacher in her life. she has done many stage shows with him, and was in fact, the winner of the sa re ga ma children's final, a show hosted by sonu nigam at one time. sneha now has over 40 shields and trophies at her home. incidentally, sneha has sung in many regional languages as well. as for singing, she admires sisters lata mangeshkar and asha bhosle and mohammed rafi. she also listens to mehdi hasan and ghulam ali. hobbies include listening to music, watching tv and spending time with her sister, who is accompanying her on this trip.
